DCI has launched a manhunt for five KMTC students suspected of being involved in the killing of their classmate, Anne Odhiambo, at the Nairobi campus.
Anne, 29, was a final-year Higher Diploma student in Clinical Medicine and Surgery. Her body was found on July 7, 2026, inside Room 220 at the Mary Griffin Hostel, where she lived.
Investigators believe the incident began after Anne confronted a fellow student over a pair of trousers she claimed had been stolen.
The disagreement reportedly escalated, and she was allegedly lured into another room, where five female students are suspected of assaulting her.
Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage to establish how Anne's body was later found in her own hostel room. The five suspects reportedly disappeared from the campus soon after the incident.
A postmortem conducted at Nairobi Funeral Home ruled out earlier claims that Anne had died by suicide. Pathologists concluded that she sustained severe head injuries and other internal trauma consistent with an assault.
KMTC management says it has handed over security records to investigators and is fully cooperating as police continue searching for the suspects.
